I’ve spent some time in Denver but haven’t seen a single one of the sights you shared. There’s so much to see and do in that city. Love your pictures! Denver is a great gateway to some very scenic mountain resorts too, as I’m sure you know.

  5. Hi Ken – this was a great scenic tour of Denver. I never new weed was legal there – is that just for medicinal purposes or can anyone buy it. I also liked the Argo mine. Amazing what a couple of guys were able to do when they thought the result was going to mean riches – I wonder, did it?

Recreational marijuana is now legal in the states of Colorado and Washington. In the most recent election, voters in Oregon and Washington, D.C., also voted to legalize. Some other states have reduced the penalty for small amounts to what is basically a ticket. As far as the riches that came from the Argo Mine, it seems to have been like many other things in America. A few got very, very rich while many others went home with their hands in the pockets.

Very funny photo tour of the quirky and imaginative side of Denver; a city I have always felt very much at home in.

After being Denver I think I missed everything you saw. I Know places change in 35 years but it really doesn’t the look the same., so your tour was interesting. Not sure about the donuts!

  10. I never realised Denver was such a fun place. I supposed once you had a joint or two (if you are convivial to that sort of thing), the resulting munchies should give you sufficient strength to tackle the giant burgers and delicious Voodoo donuts. Nice to see a glimpse of the city’s industrial past too. Nice one, Ken.

I guess a Rocky Mtn High is available to all there, not just John Denver fans. A picture is worth a thousand words and your pictures made me want to visit Denver for myself.

  17. Hi Ken
VOODOO doughnuts. Such a name is sure to stick with a doughnut fan like me. I think that’s the place I will seek out first in Denver. Will they let me eat those doughnuts in that cool mine?

Great photos! It’s been years since my last trip to Denver and even though I’ve been there several times it was always on business so I’ve never seen any of the tourist attractions. Looks like it’s well worth a revisit. Thanks for the enjoyable tour! 🙂
