My three favorites are the modernist 1939 poster by German artist Sascha Maurer (what a vision), the 1927 poster by American artist Adolph Treidler (I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Statue of Liberty depicted in such a stunning gold) and the clever Wall Street poster (using stock listings) by American artist Tomoko Miho. Born in Los Angeles, Miho herself is an inspirational story, having been sent to a concentration camp (or war relocation center, as some called it) with other Japanese Americans during World War II.
Magnificent!

Would’ve liked to see a little more respect given to the nyc subways, but wonderful old posters.

Good chance the MTA was generating artsy posters. They still don’t.
