No, but I got a little crabby when I came home and could no longer get fresh crabmeat tossed on everything.

I don’t eat crab often, but would love to be seaside right now eating any variety of fresh seafood.

As you may (or may not) have noticed on my blog, I am ensconced “down the shore” in South Jersey (Brigantine) for the summer—with our dog. When our sons were growing up, our yearly family vacation was the 2 weeks before Labor Day in Avalon. Then we did 2 years in Ocean City before eventually ending up one the first barrier island north of Atlantic City.
I’m also a crab devotee. Lately, I’ve been ordering Dungeness crab which is ridiculous in New Jersey, but they’re a lot easier to eat than New Jersey blue crabs. If you ever make it to Brigantine, I highly recommend The Crab Shack which has a small attached restaurant (BYOB). They make the crab cakes to which we compare all others and typically find the others wanting. (You can get them broiled).
I hope the link is ok, but here’s our shoobie story:

I’ll have to try it. I spent a week or two each summer for years in Avalon as well. Last few years have been in Stone Harbor. Same island just ever so slightly less built up.now
