
Wendy Red Star is a 38-year old multimedia artist based in Portland. She was born in Montana and raised on a Crow reservation. She is member of the Apsaalooke (Crow) tribe. These images are from her exhibit A Scratch on the Earth on display at the Newark (N.J.) Museum.

Several of Wendy Red Star’s Peace Delegation pieces were displayed at the University of Virginia Fralin Museum last year. I read through every single portrait … and I thought, “Wow, what if all history could be told in this way?” It’s the only art of hers I know … but now seeing the additional things she has done … I love her even more! Thank you for sharing!
