There’s a lot of things that MLB could learn from the Japanese about how to make games more fun for the fans. But they’re more concerned with appeasing sponsors and broadcasters.
I had no idea baseball was so popular in Japan!! And of course they have the cutest mascots. I’m not a big baseball fan, but it seems like it would be a lot of fun to watch a game in Japan.
It was good. Different from U.S. Not as much swinging for the fences. Fans of old-school baseball would enjoy. If the leadoff man gets on, guaranteed the next batter bunts him over.
What a different experience from baseball in the US. I wonder what the Japanese athletes think when they come over here to play. There must be something enticing about our style of ball (maybe the paychecks) that brings the best of the Japanese to play here.
Thanks for the chance to see what it is like to attend a professional baseball game in Japan.
$5 for beer! That underlines what a rip-off is going on with beer prices at major league games in the U.S., including spring training.

I enjoyed this post very much as an avid rooter for the Yokohama team. Thank you for posting this, Ken.

aside from the spectacle and distractions, how was the level of play?
