Sa Bento Train Station, Porto
Sa Bento is one of two main train stations in the city of Porto. As you enter the station you are greeted by these beautiful murals made from some 20,000 azulejo tiles, the traditional ceramic tiles of Portugal. On display are various scenes from Portuguese history.
These works were created by the Portuguese artist Jorge Colaco between 1905 and 1916. The rail station has been designated a national monument.

Pinhao Rail Station
Pinhao is a small town on the Douro River in the middle of the port wine region in Portugal. There are 24 azulejo panels at the rail station that tell the story of winemaking in the region. They were designed by J. Oliveira in a factory in Aveira and installed at the station in 1937.

I’m so glad you got to see these train stations and the beautiful tiles. Thanks for sharing the photos. The tiles throughout Portugal are one of the many reasons to visit there.
While in Porto, you didn’t join the local boys in taking a leap of faith off the Dom Luis Bridge, did you?
